Our Kids Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program is specifically designed to introduce children to the art and techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in a safe, structured, and fun environment. We’re helping kids from across all of Nashville develop their confidence, discipline, self-defense skills, and overall physical fitness. At Nashville MMA, we're not here to teach students how to fight. But we do offer effective self-defense and conflict resolution strategies for the moments of conflict that are simply unavoidable.

Nashville MMA Training Camp currently serves kids ages 6 through 14 in its Kids BJJ program, with classes divided into age groups. The exact age bands shown on the live schedule can change, so parents should use the Schedule page to choose the current class for their child.
Kids BJJ is taught in a structured, coach-supervised environment with an emphasis on technique, control, and safe training habits. Like any physical sport, BJJ includes contact, but coaches teach students how to train responsibly and work with partners at an appropriate intensity.
No. Kids can start Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with no previous martial arts experience. Coaches teach the basic positions, movements, escapes, control, and class etiquette needed to build a strong foundation.
Yes. The current Nashville MMA schedule includes both Gi and No-Gi Kids BJJ classes. Gi classes use the traditional uniform for grips and control, while No-Gi classes use athletic clothing and focus on body control without gripping the uniform.
Kids BJJ can include live rolling so students can practice their techniques against appropriate resistance. Coaches supervise the rounds, match students carefully, and emphasize control, safety, and good sportsmanship.
No. Competition is optional. Nashville MMA may offer opportunities for kids who want to test their skills in tournaments, but children can train for confidence, fitness, discipline, self-defense, and fun without competing.
